Before and after pictures from some of these participants can be seen above.

ProLash8 eyelash growth serum has been clinically proven to transform short, thinning or sparse lashes into longer and thicker eyelashes. Results can be seen in as little as seven days, creating breathtaking natural lashes without the hassle of falsies or eyelash extensions.

Eyelash Growth Cycle

Much like any hair on the body, your eyelashes go through a growth cycle. This cycle is made up of three clear phases: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. The length of time that a single lash remains in one of these phases varies from person to person, but you can expect the hair to go through all three before it eventually falls out.

Anagen Phase
The Anagen phase is the active phase of your eyelashes and is the longest phase of all. It's the only stage where you actually experience the growth of hair. During this period of time, cellular division builds the shaft of the hair. As more and more cells are added to the base of the shaft, the lash grows out of the lid. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, this is the phase that is currently taking place with most of the hair on your body, including the eyelashes.

Catagen Phase
After the Anagen phase is completed, the lash moves directly into the Catagen phase. This is considered the stage of transition. It marks the end of hair growth for the eyelash as the follicle moves into the resting phase. This is the shortest of all stages of hair growth, and the least amount of hair on the body is in this phase at one time.

Telogen Phase
The Telogen phase is essentially the last stage of the hair. It is during this period of time where both the hair and the follicle are at rest. You shouldn't experience any new lash growth while the hair is in this phase. It isn't until the follicle moves back into the Anagen phase that you'll shed the old lash, which is then replaced by an actively growing hair.

Time Frame
While the period of time which a single lash is in a given phase varies from one person to the next, you can expect an average for each phase. Eyelashes typically remain in the Anagen phase for anywhere between 30 and 45 days. From there, they quickly move through the Catagen phase into the Telogen phase and are shed soon after.

ProLash8 works during the Anagen stage. It will thicken and lengthen the hair as well as strengthen the epidermal junction which is muscle responsible for holding the eyelash in place. The epidermal junction holds your new thicker and longer eyelash.

Most of the hair in your eyelashes is in the Anagen phase so you should start to see results from ProLash8 in as little as seven days. Prolash8 will also encourage growth in the seed of new eyelashes in the Anagen stage.  Treating the new seed at this early stage means that when your new eyelash grows through, it will be even thicker and longer than the previous lash.

The outstanding results from our clinical trials are based on eyelash growth in the first four weeks of use but the really amazing part is that with continued application, eyelashes that come through in the second cycle i.e. in days 30 to 60, will be even thicker and longer as ProLash8 will work on the entire lifecycle of the eyelash.

The Importance Of Having Natural Eyelashes

Eyelash extensions work by glueing one false eyelash (often made from mink hair) to each of your own lashes. The cost of a full set of good eyelash extensions is normally over £100 and will require 2-3 hours to apply in a salon.

The immediate impact of eyelash extensions can be dramatic; you will walk out of the salon with longer lashes. Unfortunately this is as good as your eyelash extensions are ever going to look, it’s all downhill from here!
Due to the number of extensions (not to mention your own eyelashes also) that you will inevitably begin to shed from day one, you will need to return for another appointment within two weeks for the salon to attempt to patch your eyelashes up. From here on it you will always be fighting a losing battle to maintain an even look. Imagine having half of your lashes long and the other half short!

You will also need to be very careful when washing your face, removing your makeup and even doing exercise with eyelash extensions. In addition there are many reports of people losing their own eyelashes when the extensions fall out.

With ProLash8 you can have longer, thicker and sexier natural lashes!
The Development of ProLash8
An interview with the ProLash8 research and development team

What is your name, professional qualifications and where do you practice from?

My name is Todd Wilpon. I am responsible for the research and development of ProLash8. I did all of my under-graduate and graduate studies at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL -- USA). I received my undergraduate degree in 1987, and have been developing cosmetic and pharmaceutical products since 1990.

In your professional experience do a lot of people suffer from concern about thinning lashes?

This has become a mainstream issue over the past couple of years and has led to the launch of several different products to “aid in the growth of eyelash density”. However, in the rush to put products out on the market, many brands have experienced many problems. Simply put, most products on the market offer no clinical and/or scientific data as to their performance. Many other products have side effects, some of them extreme enough to have forced a total product recall. The leading selling product on the market, for example, is available by prescription only, has been said to have some side effects. Its results are based on a 16-week clinical trial. Prolash8 is strictly classified as a cosmetic by the United States of America Food and Drug Administration. Our results are based on 4-week clinical trials, and we have done a complete battery of safety testing with no issues whatsoever, not even the slightest of irritation.

What are the key ingredients in ProLash8 that makes it so effective compared to other lash thickening products?

ProLash8 is a very unique formula in that it works in two distinctively different ways. First of all, ProLash8 helps to make the eyelash grow longer, thicker and darker…hence the increase in overall density. Furthermore ProLash8 works to strengthen the epidermal junction (the spot where the lash grows out of the eyelid). By strengthening this junction, the lashes not only grow longer, thicker and darker…but the junction of the eyelid is capable of holding the lashes as they increase in density. What’s the sense of having eyelashes grow longer and thicker if they will fall out? With that in mind, there is not one or two specific ingredients that are “key” ingredients, but rather a group of ingredients that work synergistically together. These ingredients include peptides, which are synthetic proteins. They are designed to mimic the action of a natural protein, but are made synthetically with vastly increased penetration ability and stability. These are combined with various vitamins and botanical extracts. They are prepared in a special proprietary blend with a unique heated procedure. These materials, put together this way, have allowed us to come out with the final product giving us the incredible clinical results previously thought to be impossible to obtain.

Can ProLash8 help lashes in other ways, such as meaning women use less mascara or false lashes, and can these damage lashes if over used?

Certainly use of ProLash8 would diminish the need for mascara, and would eliminate the need for fake lashes. There is no evidence that over-use can cause any damage…especially to the lashes. Keep in mind, that this product is not applied to the eyelashes, but applied to the lash line…the junction of the upper and lower lid where the eyelashes meet the skin. Because it is difficult to put eyeliner directly on top of ProLash8 when it is freshly applied, our clinical trials were based on using the product once/day (at night, so as not to conflict with a woman’s normal makeup routine). Feedback has shown however, that using in twice/day will give even better results.
Clinial Trial Results

Independent clinical trials were conducted on ProLash8 over a four week period. All subjects were required to use one application of ProLash8 a day as part of their normal daily routine. Applying an ample coating on the eyelid where you would normally wear eyeliner once per day, just before bedtime and wash off any residue in the morning prior to application of any eye makeup.

Photographs (the pink images shown above) were evaluated using image analysis software which quantifies changes in eyelash density in the scientifically matched photographs.
